Growing up, Alexandra Sholler trained as a classical cellist—so it's perhaps no surprise that when she eventually became producer, DJ and, later, vocalist Alison Wonderland, her tracks stood out for their musical precision and depth. Transitioning into dance music through a reputation for remixes, the Sydney artist soon became an acclaimed producer in her own right. She's equally comfortable with trap beats (“I Want U”), aggressive EDM (“Happy Place”) and polished pop (“Take It to Reality”) and collaborates with artists as diverse as Compton rapper Buddy (“Cry”) and The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne (“U Don't Know”). Thematically, she's also proud to speak up about her personal struggles, with songs like “Easy” and “Church” focusing squarely on themes of mental illness and self-worth.
