Rap veterans Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce da 5'9" came together as Slaughterhouse in 2008 to mix their battle-hardened mic skills with rugged beats. Atop parping horns, the machine-gun flows of “Sound Off” lay out an uncompromising gangsta rap ethos as Ortiz is introduced as the “cannibal slash killer”. Elsewhere, the buzzing low end of the concrete-hard “R.N.S.” finds the group breaking bones and hiding blades. They can switch things up with a club jam, too, shown by the electro lights and lasers of the bouncy “My Life” (featuring Cee Lo Green).
