Park Yoon Kyung's luxurious voice is tailor-made for tragic, string-swept ballads. Active since the ‘90s, she's released plenty of the upbeat, ponchak-style tunes (complete with techno synths and house rhythms) that characterise ‘90s trot, as well as a few novelty one-offs that showcase her sense of fun (like “Who!”, where she sings backup for a child). But her specialty is dramatic, slow-paced ballads like “부초” (“Floating Weed”), which her emotional vocals elevate to an epic scale.
