The bell

I am the bell
I rule the school
When i ring, classes snap to attention.
Anyone who ignores me risks a detention
When i ring, latecomers start running
Teachers put down their coffee cups
And sigh.
Playground games stop
Children line up.
I am the bell
I carve the day into chunks
I summon everyone to assembly
And decied when it's time for dinner
I'm in control
Everyone listens to me
With my shrill voice,
I can empty the playground
And the starfroom
In an emergency
I can clear the whole school
In less than three minutes
I am the bell
I rule the school
