From the breakout success of their signature corridos verdes to the creativity and diversity present on 2020’s Our Wave Nuestra Ola, T3r Elemento rightfully earned their place as one of the most popular contemporary acts in música Mexicana. Though its title would suggest a holistic return to narcotised themes, their new album Exotic Corridos represents the breadth of what Kristopher Nava and his crew do so well. They deal in heartbreak on “Copas de Champagne” and “Cinderella de Mis Noches”, with ashen lovers looking back mournfully on failed romances. On “Mujer Mas Bella”, Nava skilfully mixes metaphors to tell a love story shrouded in smoke. Elsewhere, he shows off a sharper edge to his corridos mettle on “JMC” and delivers another 420-friendly riff with closer “Todos Mis Relajos”.
