I remember as a child going to my grandma's house
And at bedtime she would come in, in her faded cotton gown

As I lay in peaceful sleep I knew I was safe from harm
I trusted her with childlike faith holding to her loving arms

And now that I am grown-up with children of my own
They'll never know my grandma because she already gown
