Uh, I remember when that recorder, would spend hours on Saturdays Sitting next to my radio, listening to KFRC AM out of San Francisco Hand to my chest, I promise I won't cry (with my hand on the) (Record button, waiting for my favorite songs to come on) Try to impress, fall into the sky (and when I tell people that) (I know I sound so crazy, but, it's the-) Life flashes before my eyes (the nature of it, so why can't I-) (A combination has been made, in that moment of me pretending) I'm not ready to say goodbye (We didn't really have a place to stay or anything) (We moved to Hollywood later on, and I didn't make a plan) (I just knew I wanted to follow my dreams, and) ah (One night he surprised me and said that he had an adventure of me) I'm so afraid, I see you in the dark (Mom and dad divorced when I was like 17, so we would) Don't say my name (ride bikes or go to our friends) (Literally being too scared to go on it because I was) I'd probably fall apart (terrified I would get my hair caught in the frame) (We like to build things) Days like this are the reason why (we'd walk to the candy store) (And take whatever you can imagine in, it was so awesome) (To just be able to sit in the car and watch on the big screen out there) I'm not ready to say goodbye (I just loved my childhood in so many ways) I (my childhood feels so long ago that) (Sometimes talking about it, I don't know, what's harder, adulthood) I (I have never developed so much joy) And before you realize it I'll be gone (and I forgot about how bad it was, and I just got lost in) And before you realize it (I watched the sun come up and) I'll be gone (that was one of the best feelings) (In one of the darkest moments of my life) (I will never forget that) Life flashes before my eyes I'm not ready to say goodbye (and, to me, that was amazing) (That tape recorder was-, was magic) I I I don't like it when you don't like me (Well, I don't like it when you don't like me) I'm glad we're agreed (huh?)
