Alone Time

There's not much here for me When I'm here, I don't feel free But when I'm there, I feel alive It's what I need to survive No offense, you're all great But it really is too late to change my personality It's just my reality And I do not blame you for questioning what I do It doesn't matter, well, technically, it matters to me But it shouldn't matter to you I don't need any substance In order to feel high, I can't stop you from asking why Why I choose to live this way? It's no one's fault but mine And trust me, I'll be fine as long as I have my alone time My alone time I'm still in love with myself, with my purpose With my health and with the goal I have in mind Just the thought helps me unwind I don't doubt you're the same, picture with a different frame If you won't tell I will not ask What you hide behind the mask I don't really have a clue, despite what I think is true I'm so pretentious While I might be pretentious, I'm still no better than you I don't need any substance in order to feel high I can't stop you from asking why Why I choose to live this way? It's no one's fault but mine And trust me, I'll be fine as long as I have my alone time My alone time When I'm all alone When I'm on my own It doesn't matter what I do Because no matter what As long as that door's shut Not once do I wish that I could be like you Sadly, I know it's wrong And I knew it all along I just thought it would be nice to not have to pay the price You are someone I adore What do you think I'm alive for? But you're an individual You have your own schedule We are both mostly free There's so many sights to see It isn't worth it, I mean it might be worth it If those sights could come to me I won't pretend I'm perfect I'm not even close, I've screwed up more often than most But in our darkest moments, together will we find We'll help each other climb I'll help you reach your prime I'll make sure you can find me when I'm done with my alone time
