It should be no surprise I don't always fit well in this life
Whether the way I was raised or my enneagram type
Who cares the reason who cares the why
I'm making it work, square peg round hole
I'm forcing the fit, I'm making it right
A chameleon of sorts, I'll blend in among them
Find a way to hide
Still I stumble awkwardly feeling a fool
Like doing handstands in a kiddie pool
Finding ways to bend the rules
To fit a narrative with no emotional tools
And what's the cost
Without you I am lost
The boundaries surround on all sides
They're so defined and yet self applied
I feel trapped inside and yet safely confined
The strength of a mother with a visceral fight
To take on the other wilder side
