Mermaid Island

This is a sunny day in northern Wisconsin The lake is green from tiny pieces of algae The waves feel cold against my toes in the water Don't tell that I'm on the dock without mother I woke up early just to stand with my cousin To catch the yellow sun behind the horizon We ran along the rocks to search for the snails We found a big one, and we kept it in a bucket Ooh, childhood and family Is there a way to relive my favorite memories? There is an island waiting far off the shore There sits a mermaid on a rock like a guardian She holds the secrets of the shells and the stones If we are lucky, we can sneak out to meet her We hop into the paddle boat without falling I am the passenger, my cousin the driver The snails come with us, and they ride in the backseat We're off to mermaid Island all together Ooh, childhood and family Is there a way to relive my favorite memories?
