Lyrics
Now we're going to turn it over to
You know who again, Joe Newman, yeah!
Yeah, you're up
Ah, yes you know that, you know?
Tell 'em, tell 'em
Thank you
In the summer of 1975, I had the pleasure of
Visiting the Soviet Union with the New York Jazz Repertory Company
The Soviet government had heard a program that we had done in Carnegie Hall
Some months before, on the music of Louis Armstrong
So, we took a group on the direction of the ticker Hymen
We tuned the Soviet Union playing the music of Louis Armstrong
And I was asked to do some of the vocals during the tour
And I'd like to do one of 'em for you, and it's a tune called: "When You're Smiling "
When you're smiling
When you're smiling
The whole world will smile with you
When you're laughing
Keep on laughing, yes
And the sun it comes shinin' through
But when you're crying
You bring on the rain
So stop your crying, baby
Be happy again
Sabodo-da
When you're smiling, yes
Keep on smiling
And the whole world will smile with you
Babodo-dado-dadode, oh, yeah!
