Revival

This incident was an invitation to a new beginning I must admit defeat and submit to the truth that is here The darkness has stricken me with fear I've been slipping, this time, I finally fell I'm defying the rails on the stairway to hell There are problems and then there's rock bottom I think I've finally made my entrance I need to snap out of this trance and pray for a chance Suffering will gain me sight Teach me to see in the night Teach me to see in the night I'm no longer simply existing I'm pursuing a new mission I've been touched too many times So when the sun fades into the night My fears start to rise I've turned away too many times When the shadows come to life I'll look them square in the eyes How do I recognize if I am fine or terrified?
