The Nothing

I had no dreams, I awoke from the nothing Despite all my attempts to conjure something worth discussing To cast a light upon the thoughts that life could not make clear A figuration to condense the reason I'm still here I'm of the mind that life has offered everything to me And I am wandering and drifting through now aimlessly There is no dream to catch, ambitions have become a void And all that's left to ponder now is all that I avoid We all float down here We sink into this mirror Insecurities are all that's left to purvey We dreamed a little dream, we said all that there is to say Locked up alone inside this room, filled up with empty space The spaces in between Perfection kills the dream Ooh Convincing lesser strengths to rise above monotony To carry on to find the humor in a tragedy I find that all there is to change is how I choose to see Now silver linings sneak under the skin and cut too deep We wear a frigid smile It's all worth the while Pretend it's coming still there's more than what there is to see Another compromise of burning up to feel the breeze It's only easier but nothing's ever easy It's just the way it is or maybe just the way it is for me I don't know why I'm always tired I don't know why I don't know why
