The Future Calls

Feel like life's moving way too fast Sometimes I wanna be left in the past Most of my memories just turn to grey But 2018 feels like yesterday Used to be close, now there's a divide Between reality and what I can remember inside It used to be so easy, there was nothing to fear Thought I had it figured out, but now it's unclear Not sure what direction or which road to take up Wanna go back to who I was when I came up Rap career was fantasy, faked and made up But now I got an album, gotta step my game up Told you before that I was feeling fine But some days I feel like I'm living a lie Was crawling before, now I've got to climb But part of me just wants to go back in time 2, 4, 6, 8 Not enough time for me to contemplate How much longer I've got left to rhyme Or what will even happen when I run outta time 6, 5, 4, 3 Feels like I'm stuck in my memories I can hear the future, it's calling my name But all I wanna do is just stay the same There used to be a time when I had no worries Now I think about it and my vision is blurry Got home from class just to play some games But I look back and realize it was never the same I'd play Lego Batman on my PS4 With Davis, back before the movies and lore Then we'd go to Hastings, before it had closed That was 8 years ago, but the memory's close Writing songs with Noah, way back in the day Rapping about how I'm from Eastern Bay That's the way, but lately I've lost direction Off-track, feeling like I needed correction Then out the blue, this album was born At my wits end, like I'm ready to mourn Realized there was gas in the tank And my rap career could shift up the ranks Still I don't know if it's all a mistake Wish I could remember every step I take The past is the past, there's nothing to change No matter what I do, I can't rearrange The uncertainty of everything drives me insane It's hard to live knowing it's all part of the game Can I still hold on when life really begins? And maybe more importantly, how will it end?
