Staring down the barrel of the flashing lights It's enough to make you feel hypnotised When your feet won't lift from upon the floor Nothing else seems to matter at all You're in no mood for anything funny or wise Left on the thinnest of ice Watch each step and consider it twice Before you end up down the cul de sac With no sight of the facts Enough isn't enough until it's far too much You probably should but why would you stop When you've got it all the way you want Lit up in decadent font is a place to stop And start to make the vow You won't do it again next week Cause it just isn't worth the row And the Sundays all look bleak The weekend sinners are on the pavement grinning And they're plotting out the great escape They've lost control and they're the last to know Wait to see how it all unfolds No they won't be told there's no advice to hold Who can solve the mystery Put your plans on hold stuck to the back of your throat Is the taste of smoke from the fire you're about to start
