It's that time, y'all Time to give Him thanks Sunday service from the street corner Let's go Woke up this morning God blessing me I ate breakfast this morning God blessing me I was in my right mind God blessing me I could feel the sun shine God blessing me Woke up this morning God blessing me Had a roof over my head God blessing me Had me a plate to eat God blessing me I ain't where I wanna be, but God blessing me I woke up this mornin' to a full fridge I done came a long way since I was a kid I been eatin' good Baked beans and some grits Grown man weight Now I can't see my ribs When yo tummy talk Gotta get it how you live Some people drug deal Others rather steal But I think a better bet is the long game Student loans, work a gig, or to learn a trade Its a shame how the glass is half empty When them hunger pains hit, it bring the drama to a city And murder rates rise Growing higher than the ceiling And something's gotta give so its lives and its freedom High risk and high rewards in the underworld The stakes is high like the weed from south of the border I wonder why we can't all get it off the legal The cards stacked against us like Gambit is the dealer I'm ready for the world Let me say hello to Sheila Back from memory lane Now I'm back to my future Went from rags to sittin' in a hall wit a tutor To pass a class to graduate to better maneuver The job market and earn a living I could be cool wit' I set my target and took aim like storm troopers Wit no plan to be missing Cause my insanity hittin' Like a scientist cookin' up the robo chicken If I lost it all then I'd still wear a smile If it don't come back to me it was never mine I'm just thankful that God thought enough of me To let me have it at all and send me on this journey So even if I ain't got nun I know The Lord love me Now ain't that sumn?
