Lyrics

How many times do I gotta come around before it sound right? Take a long listen to these tracks I'm talkin' all night Take a long look up at the stars Find a world with flyin' cars but that don't sound quite right There's something that's out there The unknown it strikes fear But the universe won't pitch a perfect game against me here Life ain't ever picture perfect I've learned that throughout the years No I'm never scared of anything that I can comprehend Not even the end It's odd to pretend that you've got it all together When there's a hand that's tryna lend Some assistance for your mental but oh no you guess again That's a fist right to your dental and that's truly hard to mend I can't pretend to be here for you when I do not understand The conditions of your suffering and critical demand Take my hand I'll try to guide you but don't judge when we don't land Where i thought was solid ground but turns out it's sinking sand But trust me I'm tryin to make my thoughts much less violent Ride the wave don't shake the boat and do not listen to these sirens Maybe we'll escape the sea and they'll meet us with some violins But I'm trapped inside my mind like I'm on a private island How many times do I gotta come around before it sound right? Take a long listen to these tracks I'm talkin all night Take a long look up at the stars Find a world with flying cars but that don't sound quite right I can't just start to color, the picture has no lines to guide The edges are all smudged like the water on a slip-'n-slide The picture is entirely indeterministic Lookin' for the lines literally makes me feel sick But what I want doesn't have to look like some wet paint The hard part is keepin' the vision anything but faint The lens can't be a kaleidoscope, it needs to be clear The perspective has to be from one to not hazed by fear When I draw things up, it's scribbled down with Expo Just one move can cause my direction to be a no-show But the constant smudge and re-write is truly what haunts me Instead of usin' dry-erase I need to use a Sharpie Th-Th-The permanence of my goals will send an illustration My overall perspective will gain delineation I need to set some boundaries so the line don't get so faded Maybe then the picture won't make me feel so jaded How many times do I gotta come around before it sound right? Take a long listen to these tracks I'm talkin all night Take a long look up at the stars Find a world with flying cars but that don't sound quite right
